Giving your pet medication shouldn’t be difficult or frustrating – for either of you!

We believe that giving medicine shouldn’t be difficult or frustrating – for either of you. Here are some tips to make medication time as easy as 1-2-3.
  1. Make it a positive experience. Dealing with a stressed out pet can make everything more difficult, so it’s important to keep your pet calm and stress-free when it’s time for medication. Make sure you’re in a familiar place, and take some time to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and at ease.
  2. Hide & Treat. Just like the rest of us, our pets don’t often like taking medication. But they rarely refuse a treat! That’s why we recommend Hide & Treat, a medication-hiding solution disguised as a natural, healthy and flavourful treat. Simply hide the medication inside the treat by molding the treat around the pill. Capsule or tablet, doesn’t matter – Hide & Treat will hide it! Your pet will be none the wiser and you can feel good about providing a treat that’s wheat, corn, and soy free, low calorie, and even contains prebiotics (MOS) to support intestinal health. 3. Make it a habit. Repeat these steps often, and even without medication, to get your pet comfortable. Give your pet Hide & Treat both with and without medication so they don’t associate the treat with a pill. You can even make a game of it, hiding treats or playing fetch, so your pet is distracted by the fun you’re having together. Remember to offer post-pill pampering to ensure medication time is a positive experience and not a stressful one.
Teaching your dog not to beg will take time and patience, but as long as you’re consistent, he’ll get the message. Bon Appétit!
